hey everyone, wow, it has been such a long time since i have been on this blog. i dont know if anyone even goes on it anymore. haha i hope everyone's summer went well and their first few weeks of school. remember not to get too stressed with grades, just do your homework and study and ull be ok :)

D

My family has a friend named D. He is a man who my dad mentored. He was at Bathesda Mission for a while. D was in a biking accident a few months ago. He broke open his skull and had some fluid build up in his lungs. He also had kidney problems so he had to have a dialysis machine hooked up to him for about a month. He also hurt his foot. This was a terrible accident and it is amazing he is still alive. He has now moved out of the hospital to a rehab center where he is going to learn how to walk again without a walker. We were able to take him out to dinner a week or two ago and it was very encouraging that he was able to come and move around using his walker. The most amazing thing about D is his attitude toward the whole situation. He told my dad that he knows that God has a reason for not healing him fully yet. He says that God wants him to be able to tell his story to show God's healing power. Whenever he is telling someone the story of what happened, he always ends it with saying that God has healed him, or he wouldn't be here right now, and talks about God's amazing power. I don't think I would have that good of an attitude if that happened to me, but it is encouraging to me that he has such a good attitude toward it.

Trip to the Whitaker Center

As everyone knows, we went to the Whitaker Center yesterday as a class. I thought it was fun and interesting. My favorite part was probably the show about the liquid nitrogen. It's amazing how cold things can get, and I thought it was cool how much things change texture when they get cold. Science can be really interesting and it was fun for me to go and do all the interactive things. I think God really shows his power through science. He also shows his power in things like weather. We watched the IMAX show about the Hurricane which really shows how powerful weather, and therefore God, can be. What your favorite part? What other observations did people make about our trip yesterday?

Over the weekend i had Kelly over and we had a lot of fun. We did a lot of walking. We walked to Weis and back, and we got a ride to Starbucks and walked back. So we did about 5 miles of walking. I happened to be wearing short sleeves and i also happen to have fair skin. So i got a pretty bad sunburn. I hate sunburns and i get them so often its annoying. I saw some other people got sunburned too, so its good to know im not the only one. i hope everyone had a good weekend.

Hey everyone, i hope you all had a great long weekend and didn't eat too many sweets ;) My family has started this tradition of not doing an egg hunt on Easter day cuz my dad doesn't think it has anything to do with Easter and he wants our focus to stay on the real reason for Easter. I don't really like this tradition, i don't think it takes the focus off for me, but it's my dad's rule. Do you have any different traditions in your family? I watched The Passion of the Christ the day before Easter with my sister, SongIe. Did anyone else watch that movie?

Recently i have been learning a lot with putting things in God's hands. I have also been learning about trying to trust my parents and their rules even when it is hard and they seem like they are being unreasonable. I know that my parents want what's best for me and that's why they make so many rules. That goes for everyone's parents. I have been looking back on rules they made and seen how right they were. They were once our age and know how it is. Keep that in mind when your parents make rules you don't like. Have a great week everyone!
